Forest Estates Yard Sale - Saturday, May 5 PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 16 April 2007
The format of this popular event will be different this year, due to the excellent suggestions made on the community e-mail list.

This year, the sale will begin at 8 a.m. and end at noon, with a rain date of Sunday, May 6. In addition, the sale will be a mix of the traditional lower Belvedere Boulevard sale and yard sales by individual residents. A continental breakfast sale will be held mid-block. We will still close down the north side of the 1600 block of Belvedere, and anyone who would like to set up in the median is welcome to do so. However, people may also choose to set up a yard sale in front of their own homes.

If you would like to have your home–based yard sale listed on a map of the neighborhood that FECA will post on its www.forestestates.org web site and distribute from a table on Belvedere during the sale, please send a $10 check payable to FECA to Eric Tublin, 1618 Belvedere Blvd., by May 1, along with the address of your sale (if different from the address on your check). PayPal payments are also welcomed at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it The fee will cover the costs of advertising in the Washington Post and the Express, as well as the printing of maps. The event will also be advertised on the Craigslist website. Belvedere sellers will be requested to pay $10 during the event to defray these costs.

Belvedere sellers should make arrangements to remove their unsold items from the median as we cannot arrange for a salvage-based charity will take them after the sale at this time.

Up-to-the-minute event updates, including weather postponements, will be provided via the Forest Estates Events Hotline at 240-292-1142 and also communicated via the Forest Estates e-mail group. To join this group, send an e-mail with your name, street address and phone number (optional) to: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

If you would like to help with signs, advertisements, concessions, clean-up, or can arrange for a charity to pick up unsold items, please contact Oscar Sodani. Any help is welcome!

We hope to see you there, either selling or shopping!
