January 2026
In 2025, Forest Estates enjoyed an incredible year of community and celebration, and we elected a new Board. After hearing from individual community members and following some listening sessions, the FECA Board priorities in 2026 will be focused on hosting information sessions for the Forest Estates community, continuing with our anchor events like the Farmer’s Market and Juneteenth cook out, adding new events and community activities, and of course, finalizing the bylaws.
In 2026, FECA intends to undertake the following projects:
Update the FECA website
Revive the FECA Newsletter
Institutionalize archival materials for future Boards
Evolve the Welcome Wagon initiative into a postcard campaign for new community members
Explore adding additional Little Free Libraries in the Community
The FECA Board also wants to remind the community that WSSC’s sewer replacement project has started and will be under construction during all of 2026. Information on that county project can be found here.
The Wheaton Branch Dam Overtopping project that will strengthen the dam has started and will be under construction during the spring of 2026. Information on that county project can be found here.
And please don’t forget! The FECA Board is facilitating a neighborhood infrastructure improvement walk on Sunday, February 15th.
